At a party celebrating her return to Parisian society after a lengthy illness, the glamorous courtesan Violetta is swept off her feet by the kind young Alfredo. Violetta gives up her luxurious life and moves to the country with him, but when Alfredo's father pays an unexpected visit their relationship is thrown into turmoil. With Violetta's health once again becoming more fragile, will they have time to make amends?
