Brie Larson is starring in *Elektra* at the Duke of York's Theatre until 12 April 2025. 

Brie Larson is an Academy Award winning actor who is known for her role in *Room* and as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well has having appeared in *Short Term 12*. 

She has previously appeared on the stage in a 2010 production of *Our Town* at Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Stockard Channing was born in New York City and grew up on the Upper East Side. After attending Radcliffe College to study History and Literature, she joined the experimental Theatre Company of Boston and her acting career took off, making her off-Broadway debut in 1969 with the company's production of *Adaptation/Next* by Elaine May. Two years later, she made her Broadway debut in the new musical *Two Gentlemen of Verona*.

With this early success in her career in musical theatre, it is no surprise that Channing is most famously known for her performance in another musical, this time on film - *Grease*. Released in 1978, Channing's performance as Betty Rizzo is legendary. Channing also returned to the musical stage in 2008 for a revival of *Pal Joey* on Broadway, singing the iconic song "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" in the role of Vera Simpson.

Other Broadway credits include her Tony Award winning performance in *A Day in the Death of Joe Egg*, as well as starring in *The House of Blue Leaves*, *Six Degrees of Separation*, *Four Baboons Adoring the Sun*, *The Lion in Winter*, *Other Desert Cities* and *It's Only A Play*.

Channing repeated her Tony Award-nominated performance in *Six Degrees of Separation* in London's West End in 1991 and on film in 1993, for which she was nominated for best actress at the Oscars. In 2007, she starred in *Awake and Sing* at the [Almeida Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/almeida-theatre), and a decade later was in *Apologia* at [Trafalgar Studios](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/trafalgar-studios).

Her television work includes her Emmy Award-winning performance as Abbey Bartlett, the First Lady, in the hugely successful series *The West Wing*, and more recently for guest appearances in *The Good Wife*.

She has been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards (winning three), 8 Tony Awards (winning one), and an Olivier Award. She is currently starring as Clytemnestra in *Elektra* alongside Brie Larson at the Duke of York's Theatre.

Marième Diouf is starring as Chrysothemis in *Elektra* at the Duke of York's Theatre.

Her previous stage credits include *Playing Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet* (The Globe), *The Hoes* (Hampstead Theatre), *A Tale of Two Cities* (Regent’s Open Air Theatre), *King Lear* (RSC), *Hamlet* (RSC), *Cymbeline* (RSC), and *Liberian girl* (Royal Court). On screen, she has starred in *Tarzan* and *Outlander*.

Patrick Vaill is currently starring in *Elektra* alongside Brie Larson at the Duke of York's Theatre.

He previously appeared as Doctor Brenner in the West End production of *Stranger Things: The First Shadow*. His other credits include West End and Young Vic productions of Daniel Fish's *Oklahoma!*, for which he won the Evening Standard Award for Best Musical Performance.

Greg Hicks is currently starring as Aegisthus in *Elektra* alongside Brie Larson at the Duke of York's Theatre.

The Olivier nominated actor has appeared in a range of productions including *The Grapes of Wrath* and *The Oresteia*, both at the National Theatre, *Ghosts* (Sam Wanamaker Playhouse), *Oklahoma!* (Young Vic and West End), *All’s Well That Ends Well, Hamlet, Little Eagles, Anthony & Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, A Winter’s Tale, King Lear* (all RSC), and *Coriolanus* (Old Vic).

His film credits include *Son of God, The Mercy*, and *Snow White & the Huntsman*.

The **Duke of York's Theatre** is one of the most prestigious theatres in the bustling city of London. Duke of York's Theatre is well-connected to public transportation. The closest tube stations include Charing Cross, Leicester Square, and Covent Garden. Alternatively, several buses stop near St Martin's Lane. For those driving, there are car parks nearby. However, due to London's congestion charge, public transport is the most convenient and often, the easiest way to reach the theatre.

The Duke Of York’s Theatre opened as the Trafalgar Square Theatre in 1892.The playhouse received its current name three years later in 1895, in honour of the future King George V. 

Famous productions to play at the Duke Of York’s Theatre include David Belasco’s *Madame Butterfly* in 1900 – Puccini was in the audience and famously turned the story into an opera. J. M. Barrie's famous creation *Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up* opened at the theatre on 27 Dec. 1904.

Typically, the Duke of York's Theatre is home to short-running plays, with West End and Broadway stars appearing.

The auditorium has three levels – Stalls, Royal Circle and Upper Circle.

The Stalls offer good legroom throughout, and the raking of the seats is very good, noticeably from Row D onwards. 

In the Royal Circles, there is no visual obstruction from the Upper Circle. 

The seats in the Upper Circle curve towards the stage. The final two rows of the Upper Circle are bench seats.
