About Alcina - Royal Ballet and Opera
Jealous lovers, magical islands, sorcery and seduction what more could you ask for?
Alcina, an enchantress, uses her magical powers to tempt her lovers to her island. Doesn’t sound too bad right? Except when she tires of them, she turns them into animals.
When her latest conquest Ruggiero's wife comes looking for him and a new love triangle is created with Alcina's sister... (messy, right!), Alcina must get a handle on her web of sorcery and seduction before it all unravels.
Sung in Italian with English surtitles, which are displayed on screens above the stage and around the auditorium.
