Young Vic (Main House)

The Young Vic, a sister theatre of the Old Vic, was established in 1970. Both were originally part of the National Theatre but are now independent venues; the Young Vic broke from the National in 1974. As the Young Vic was named for a 20th-century theatre company that put on productions for young audiences, the theatre still seeks to appeal to young, diverse, modern theatregoers. Its programming mostly includes new plays and innovative reimaginings of classic works. In addition to the 420-seat mainstage, there is a 150-seat and a 70-seat space at the venue.
